Daytona Open Grappling
Gi and no-gi, white belt to black — submission grappling on the festival mats.
Overview
Daytona Open Grappling is IMAF's submission-grappling tournament, open to jiu jitsu, submission wrestling, judo, and catch wrestling athletes across gi and no-gi rulesets.
Brackets run all weekend on multiple mats with live-streamed finals, absolute divisions, and medals for every belt level and age group.
Divisions & Format
Double-elimination or round-robin depending on bracket size, with gi divisions in the morning and no-gi in the afternoon.
Gi — Adult
White through black belt, split by weight class and gender.
No-Gi — Adult
Beginner, intermediate, and advanced experience tiers by weight.
Kids & Teens
Ages 5–17 matched by age, weight, and experience level.
Masters 30+/40+
Age-bracketed divisions for veteran competitors.
Absolute Divisions
Open-weight brackets for gi and no-gi medalists.
Submission Only
Special superfight bracket decided by submission or overtime.
Rules & Judging
- Standard IBJJF-style scoring applies in gi and no-gi points divisions; submission ends the match immediately.
- Legal submissions vary by age and belt level; heel hooks and reaping are restricted to advanced no-gi divisions only.
- Weigh-ins take place on the day of competition, in competition attire, with no allowance.
- Gi divisions require a clean, undamaged gi in an approved color with correct sleeve and pant length.
- Slamming, striking, small-joint manipulation, and unsportsmanlike conduct cause immediate disqualification.
- Referee decisions are final; protests go to the mat coordinator before the next match starts.
